How to Choose the Right Holster For You
Choosing the right holster for your every day carry gun can be really overwhelming! There are so many holster options, where do you start? The options for women are even more challenging as we navigate different wardrobe considerations and body types.
When looking for the right holster for you, there are a few main points to consider:
1. Access: You need to be able to get to your gun when you need it.
2. Retention: Your gun needs to stay on your body for the activity that you are doing. (Example: My level of retention while riding, and sometimes falling off, horses, needs to be higher than when I'm in my house doing dishes, and different yet when I'm teaching a class.)
3. Safety: Your trigger must be covered at all times and the holster needs to fit your gun properly.
When those 3 conditions are met, you can start thinking about where to place the holster on your body. Does inside the waistband work for you? What does your daily wardrobe look like? All of these are considerations to choosing the right holster for you.
